Building Audio Equipment for the US Navy

My Father built a farm tractor and wired a barn for electricity when he was just 10 years old in Greigsville, New York. As it happened, my grandfather told me this when I was 10, so I was obviously impressed, which meant I had a lot of catching up to do.

After getting his Notre Dame Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, my dad spent two years as a commissioned officer in the US Army. Then he worked for RCA, Strongberg Carlson and Dynalec, where he had two partners. 95% of that company’s work came from one client who used Dynalec for 95% of its work. That client was the US Navy. My dad alone designed all of the audio equipment for music playback on US Navy warships and submarines, incredible, just him, all by himself. His two partners handled the money, management and manufacturing.

What a great talent my father was.
